I have no problems uploading photos to Facebook on the Gateway. I also have no bug uploading photos to Shutterfly on the Toshiba with Windows 7 as stated in my original post.
The problem isn't express to IE. I get the same fault message using IE, Chrome, or Firefox. The merely two things I hadn't tried were a clean kick and disabling add-ons/extensions. Afterward the clean boot, I however couldn't upload even one photo to Shutterfly using Chrome. I then disabled all of the add-ons/extensions in Chrome, but all the same couldn't upload to Shutterfly.
I had also already contacted Shutterfly, and was told they were experiencing no issues with their service. I checked the Shutterfly forums and only a couple of people had posted about having uploading problems. Their Facebook folio had no reports of uploading trouble.
Based on all of the preceding, it appears to exist a Windows viii problem. Whatever other suggestions?

I reset IE, but am still unable to upload to Shutterfly not only in IE, merely Chrome and Firefox. I used the organization checker tool and this was the outcome:
