Growing upward in Waikiki, there was ever someone coming and going. Beyond the many visitors that make it and depart daily, the people who move to Waikiki to carve out a life for themselves in paradise would e'er seem to come and go equally well. Some people would end up relocating to a dissimilar part of the island, some would leave Hawaii to seek their fortunes elsewhere and others would heed the call of home, commonly thousands of miles away from Waikiki. My dad called Hawaii the "State of Goodbyes", especially for those who live there. The decision of 2016 brought another cheerio, and this i by far the nigh difficult and impactful one. Our Company founder, mentor and more personally – my begetter, Wayne Overman, said his final farewell to Hawaii and entered the ultimate Paradise, Heaven, on December v, 2016. My brother Joseph and I were blessed across measure to have someone like him every bit a male parent, friend, business partner and example in life. In our apprehensive stance, he was as unique and special a person equally Hawaii is a place, although we may be a bit biased! Wayne is a seasoned earth traveler – and has seen 93 countries. His travels accept taken him around-the-world seventeen times cumulatively. He says, "I have traveled the entire world to see if there is any place to lucifer the glory of Hawaii – and there is none! Hawaii is God'south gift to the earth and mankind, and is probably a tiny glimpse of what Heaven is like."
He holds a degree in Business Administration and was also working toward a degree in Engineering – which he left to nourish an East Coast Bible College subsequently becoming a Christian. Wayne believes travel is ane of life's best educations – and agrees with former U.s.a. President John F. Kennedy'due south quote, "I learned more in one summer traveling away than I did in all my years at Harvard University." However, Wayne too believes that the study of God'due south Discussion trumps all forms of education. He volunteers his fourth dimension as a Hawaii church leader and has also served his country in the military.
Wayne says that his greatest life accomplishment was raising his two crawly children (Haven and Joseph) who are now leaders of Aloha Hawaiian Vacations. Haven Overman Bollinger's get-go trip to Hawaii was in 1982, as a toddler. She visited several more times, prior to moving to Hawaii in 1994, as a young teen. She lived in the heart of Waikiki for the next fifteen years, before relocating to the coast of North Carolina, where she resides with her husband and daughter. Some of her earliest memories are of her parents hosting a weekly "Hawaii Slide Presentation" from their offices in Burlington, NC, and secretly feasting on the macadamia nuts and tea cookies that were served. As a child, she listened to her male parent, Wayne Overman, talk to clients, negotiate with suppliers and wax poetic well-nigh the dazzler of Hawaii. She began her career in the Reservations & Itinerary Section, from there moved on to Customer Relations and finally progressed to Sales. After the passing of her father, she moved into Sales & Marketing management, where she assists our agents in helping our clients experience Hawaii to its' fullest. She continues to eat too many macadamia basics.
