The U.s.a. House of Representatives is a legislative chamber in the bicameral legislature of the United States, and together with the U.Southward. Senate makes up the United States Congress. Each U.Due south. Representative, also referred to as Congressmember, is elected to a two-year term serving the people of a specific Congressional district. The number of voting Representatives in the Firm is fixed by police at no more than 435, proportionally representing the population of the 50 States. Congressmember Alan Lowenthal, 47th District
Congressman Alan Lowenthal's dedication to common-sense bipartisan solutions earned him a reputation among his colleagues and constituents equally 1 of the most respected and constructive legislators in both Long Beach and Sacramento. He is currently the U.S. House Representative of California's newly created 47th Congressional District, which includes portions of Long Beach, amongst other communities.
Congressman Lowenthal serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) and House Committee on Natural Resources (HNRC). He serves on T&I's Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, Subcommittee on H2o Resources and Environment, Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, and Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials. The Congressman serves on HNRC's Subcommittee on Free energy and Mineral Resources, Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands, and Subcommittee on Water, Oceans and Wildlife. Congressmember Lowenthal is the ranking fellow member of the HNRC Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources.

Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragán is proud to represent California's 44th Congressional Commune, which includes North Long Beach. Rep. Barragán was born in Harbor City, California and grew up in Carson and the surrounding area. She lives in San Pedro, CA. Rep. Barragán began her congressional career in January of 2017.
